Dear friends, I feel so much honoured and privileged to greet you in His Jesus name through this letter.
I am so blessed to bring to a small meditation along with the ministry updates as we all grow spiritually to be like minded of Jesus in compassion, love towards his mission.
I would like you to open your bible (if you can) and read what John wrote in his gospel chapter 5 verse 1,"After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem".
Here we read that Jesus went upto Jerusalem. That was festival time and every one in there enjoying and celebrating with one another with great joy.
Disciples of Jesus might have thought they would have good time with people and children. They might have thought that will have warm welcome and respect from the audience or hosts. While Disciples of Jesus were thinking of the feast, celebration, food or anything from feast, Jesus was thinking of another place called Bethesda, where there was misery, pain, agony, sickness, envy, helplessness, cry. Doesn’t that alarm us at these present times how we, being called Christ’s followers?
Jesus took His disciples to Bethesda. The disciples they might have disappointed looking at the scenario over there.
As soon as they entered the Bethesda, they had seen people with hope for an angel to come and stir up the water so that they would be healed. There were different people with different ailments ready to get healed. There was a crippled man with no help for 38 years. He might have seen many times Angel coming and stirring up water and many were healed. He might have seen many people coming with pain leaving with joy. He might have seen both pain and healing. Can you imagine the pain he had in heart, that is worse than pain he had in his body. Sometimes physical pain we have is only little in comparison to the emotional and spiritual pain we face.
That’s when Jesus showed compassion on him not on every one. He brought healing to him and sent him away. The crippled man went out with great joy leaving 38 years of psychological and emotional pain behind. He did not realise who brought this great healing to him and didn’t even say thanks for what he received. Jesus was just watching him going with joy.
Can you imagine what Disciples might be thinking? it was a great lesson for His disciples to learn where they should invest time and keep their hearts.
If we are thinking like his disciples now, thinking of feast, joy, celebration or any thing that gives a moment of pleasure to body, we have to learn a lesson from this. God is asking the same question to us now.
Please think about the heart Jesus had; His heart was at Bethesda Pool, His heart was with people who need healing , restoration.
Now where is your heart right now? where are you investing your time and energy? Where are you investing you resources like time, energy finances? Is it in the place there is plentiful or the place where there is a great need of your time and resources in any kind for the Glory of the Lord. Are you investing your resources in the right way in the right place for restoration of someone physical and spiritual?
Please pray and seek the people and the place where there is pain, suffering and need of your valuable time and energy. Please seek God to keep your heart burning for the people group with no help to preach gospel, hear gospel, go to church, and who are struggling to keep their faith strong, those who have no one to help in their sickness, pain and suffering.
Here is a call to everyone of us to pray and seek the opportunities to bring joy to those who don’t have joy, peace to peaceless, hope to the hopeless with your God given resources. Please join your hands with us in restoring the broken.
This is my Prayer that God will give us grace to be someone in someone’s life to bring restoration. Amen.
